BUILT AROUND YOUR APPLICATION

A buffer between pressure changes
and your equipment.

SurgeShield is designed for peristaltic and other large positive displacement pump systems. Selection depends on the actual pulsation or transient event.

01 / PRODUCT DETAILS

Pulsation dampening

The vessel absorbs and releases energy associated with changing flow from the pump. Review pump type, speed, and flow before choosing a vessel volume.

02 / PRODUCT DETAILS

Surge control

SurgeShield can also act as a small surge vessel. Pump starts, stops, and valve operations should be considered when evaluating pressure transients.

03 / PRODUCT DETAILS

Configurable construction

Blacoh lists 15-, 25-, and 37-gallon versions, carbon steel or stainless steel housings, and several bladder materials. Confirm the full model specification and any required certification with the quote.

Published maximum ratings describe specific configurations. They do not establish suitability for every fluid, temperature, pressure event, or installation.

APPLICATION GUIDANCE

Match the equipment
to the operating conditions.

Identify the pressure problem

Describe pulsation, vibration, water hammer, or instrumentation issues. Include any pressure recordings and the operating event that causes the problem.

Provide the pump and piping details

Share pump type, flow range, speed, line size, pipe length, valve arrangement, and normal operating pressure.

Review compatibility and installation

Include the fluid, concentration, temperature, available footprint, connection requirements, and site specifications. Vessel sizing and charging must follow the selected manufacturer documentation.

HUDSON PUMP & EQUIPMENT

Talk through the details.

Hudson can help coordinate the application information needed to review a SurgeShield selection. For an existing vessel, include its nameplate, bladder information, pressure history, and the system changes made since installation.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Before you specify.

Does SurgeShield need a continuous air supply?

Blacoh describes a chargeable design that allows the air line to be removed after charging. The correct charge and inspection procedure depend on the selected vessel and application.

Can I select a vessel using pipe size alone?

No. Flow, pressure, pump behavior, piping, and the event being controlled all matter. Send the complete operating information for review.

What should I include for a replacement?

Send the vessel model and serial number, connection details, bladder material if known, and current operating conditions.
