Choose the right filter bag.
Start with the liquid and housing.

A filter bag needs to fit the housing and the filtration duty. Hudson Pump & Equipment helps Florida customers review Rosedale media, micron ratings, dimensions, and sealing styles for new applications and replacements.

BUILT AROUND YOUR APPLICATION

Three decisions shape the selection.

Begin with the filtration objective and operating conditions. A matching micron number alone does not establish equivalent performance or a proper fit.

01 / PRODUCT DETAILS

Media and construction

Rosedale offers felt, mesh, and specialty filter-bag families. Review media compatibility, seam construction, and the process requirements before selecting a bag.

02 / PRODUCT DETAILS

Micron and efficiency requirements

Specify the particle size to be controlled and the required retention performance. Ask how the rating is defined, including whether it is nominal or supported by an efficiency rating.

03 / PRODUCT DETAILS

Size and sealing style

Standard felt bags are offered with ring and molded-flange configurations. Confirm the housing model, bag dimensions, top style, and basket support; similar dimensions do not guarantee a correct seal.

APPLICATION GUIDANCE

Match the equipment
to the operating conditions.

Describe the liquid and solids

Include chemistry, concentration, temperature, viscosity, solids loading, and the particles or contamination you need to remove.

Define the filtration result

Explain the downstream process requirement, current bag life, and any quality issue. Provide the existing part number and retention specification if available.

Check housing and operating data

Send the housing model, bag dimensions, ring or flange details, flow, and differential-pressure observations. Include photographs of the current bag and top seal.

HUDSON PUMP & EQUIPMENT

Talk through the details.

Hudson can help review a replacement bag inquiry or organize the details for a filtration change. If the existing bag plugs quickly or permits bypass, include the operating history and housing information with your request.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Before you specify.

Are two bags with the same micron rating equivalent?

Not necessarily. Media, efficiency definition, construction, and test conditions can differ. Compare the full specification against the process requirement.

Can I select a bag from its length alone?

No. Diameter, top-ring or flange design, sealing arrangement, and support basket must also match the housing.

When should a bag be changed?

Use the bag and housing manufacturer’s differential-pressure and operating instructions, together with the process requirements. There is no universal change interval for every liquid and solids load.
