BUILT AROUND YOUR APPLICATION
Four technologies.
Different reliability challenges.
Start with the problem you need to solve. Bearing contamination, product leakage, electrical discharge, and steam leakage call for different approaches.
01 / PRODUCT DETAILS
Bearing isolators
A non-contacting rotor and stator form a compound labyrinth to retain lubricant and exclude contaminants. Designs are available for pumps, motors, gearboxes, pillow blocks, and other rotating equipment. Match the design to the lubrication method and operating environment.
02 / PRODUCT DETAILS
Air Mizer® shaft seals
Air Mizer addresses product leakage and contamination on equipment handling powders, liquids, slurries, and bulk solids. Its articulating design accommodates shaft movement. Review the process, shaft motion, and required air system when considering a seal for a mixer or conveyor.
03 / PRODUCT DETAILS
Shaft grounding
Shaft grounding diverts damaging shaft currents away from motor bearings. Inpro/Seal offers grounding devices and a Smart Ground Monitor for feedback on grounding performance. Share the motor, drive, and installation details to review an appropriate configuration.
04 / PRODUCT DETAILS
Sentinel® Floating Brush Seal
Sentinel FBS is a sealing upgrade for process steam turbines. It addresses steam leakage and the maintenance associated with conventional carbon rings. Turbine dimensions, steam conditions, and the existing sealing arrangement guide the review.
APPLICATION GUIDANCE
Match the equipment
to the operating conditions.
Identify the failure mode
Describe lubricant loss, water or dust ingress, process leakage, or suspected electrical bearing damage. Include photographs and the maintenance history.
Document the equipment
Provide the make, model, shaft diameter, housing dimensions, speed, and available installation space. Drawings help confirm the fit.
Define the operating environment
Include temperature, process material, lubrication method, washdown exposure, and shaft movement. For motor grounding, include VFD and motor information.
HUDSON PUMP & EQUIPMENT
Talk through the details.
Bring Hudson your existing seal information or a new equipment specification. We can help organize the dimensions and application details needed for an Inpro/Seal review, replacement inquiry, or equipment service discussion.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Before you specify.
Are bearing isolators and mechanical seals interchangeable?
They serve different functions. A bearing isolator protects the bearing housing; a process shaft seal addresses leakage at the equipment shaft. The correct solution depends on the equipment and sealing duty.
Is Sentinel FBS intended for every pump?
No. Sentinel FBS is designed for process steam turbine sealing. Hudson can help distinguish it from bearing isolators and other shaft sealing products.
What should I send for a replacement?
Include the equipment nameplate, existing seal number, shaft and housing dimensions, and photographs. Confirm the design and fit before ordering.
