BUILT AROUND YOUR APPLICATION
Understand the cutting system.
Plan the installation.
Match maceration requirements to the fluid, solids, and downstream equipment. The OrbitGrinder is a macerator, so the surrounding pumping system remains part of the selection.
01 / PRODUCT DETAILS
Cutting basket & blades
Star-arranged blades rotate inside a round cutting basket. Basket hole pattern, rotational speed, and flow influence the degree of maceration.
02 / PRODUCT DETAILS
Debris collection
A collector captures material that cannot be shredded. Include the expected debris and service access when reviewing an installation.
03 / PRODUCT DETAILS
Maintenance in Place
The quick-release cover provides access to wear parts and the debris collector without removing the unit from the pipeline. Follow the manufacturer’s isolation and service procedures.
APPLICATION GUIDANCE
Match the equipment
to the operating conditions.
Define the solids
Describe fibrous material, particle size, solids concentration, and foreign objects. Explain the size reduction required by downstream equipment.
Review the hydraulic duty
Provide normal and maximum flow, working pressure, temperature, pipe size, and pump arrangement. Include suction-side pressure limitations where relevant.
Plan controls and service access
Identify electrical supply, control integration, isolation, and clearance for the cover and debris collector. Provide a piping sketch or installation photos.
HUDSON PUMP & EQUIPMENT
Talk through the details.
Hudson can help review a new OrbitGrinder installation or identify parts for an existing unit. Include the model, serial number, current basket or blade details, and a description of the operating issue.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Before you specify.
Does an OrbitGrinder replace the pump?
No. It is an inline macerating unit. Review it together with the pump, piping, and process requirements.
Can every foreign object be shredded?
No. The unit includes a debris collector for material that cannot be shredded. Describe the expected contaminants during application review.
What affects the maceration result?
Börger identifies basket hole pattern, flow, and rotational speed as relevant factors. The final configuration should match the solids and required process result.
